How it works
Everything happens in your browser, so your documents are never uploaded. Compressing a PDF saves each page as an image, which works best for scanned documents; text can't be selected afterwards.
Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?+
No. Everything runs in your browser, on your own computer or phone. Your files are never sent to a server, and they're gone when you close the page.
Why can't I select text after compressing a PDF?+
To reach an exact size, each page is saved as an image. That works very well for scanned documents, but text in the result can no longer be selected or searched.
Can I open password-protected PDFs?+
Not yet. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then add the file here.
