How it works
DPI is a tag inside the file that tells printers how large to print it. Changing it doesn't touch the pixels, so the photo looks the same on screen. JPG and PNG are edited in place; other formats are saved as JPG.
Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?+
No. Everything runs in your browser, on your own computer or phone. Your files are never sent to a server, and they're gone when you close the page.
Does changing the DPI change my photo?+
No. DPI is a tag that tells printers how large to print the photo. For JPG and PNG only that tag changes; the pixels stay exactly the same.
Why does my photo say “No DPI set”?+
Many phones and apps don't write a DPI value. Most software then assumes 72 DPI. If your form asks for a specific DPI, set it here.
